Game Theory

Game Theory is a collection inspired by my early childhood experiences. Super Mario quickly became my favourite game, followed closely by Mortal Kombat 3 on the Sega Genesis. But it was the Mario universe that truly captivated me—its colour, its charm, and its ability to draw me into a world of possibility and beauty that I couldn’t yet express in words as a child.

Games, according to Kelly Clancy, are representations of reality—experiments, thought models, or controlled environments where cause and effect can be explored.
Growing up, games shaped how I saw the world. Through this collection, I chose to tell our collective stories against the backdrop of those childhood game worlds, drawing on their themes, emotions, and visual language. I hope you enjoy this journey.

The idea behind Game Theory is to immerse myself in the spirit of freedom that childhood play embodies, and to hold onto those ideals in adulthood. Human will and freedom are just as essential as work. I hope these pieces bring you joy.
